6. Take 1 tsp ghee
7. Take 1 Cardomom/Elaichi

Kheer Recipe, popularly known as Chaler Payesh in Bengal is a traditional sweet dish of Indian cuisine.

Instructions to make Payesh/Bengali Kheer ❤️:

1. First soak the rice in water for half an hour. Now take a tadka pan, add a tsp of ghee and fry the dry fruits and keep it aside.
2. Now boil the milk adding a bay leaf to it. This would enhance its flavour, then add the soaked rice to it. Now add the fried dry fruits & elaichi. Mix everything well. Boil it till the rice 70 percent done.
3. Now add sugar & rose essence to it. Mix it well. Cook the rice till it's completely done. Now switch off the flame. And garnish it with some chopped dry fruits & kesar strands. Let it come to room temperature then keep it in a refrigerator for an hour or two & serve chilled. ❤️❤️

This is a rice-based sweet dish made along with milk. However, this recipe is globally popular in different communities with different names. Like we Bengalis call it as Chaler Payesh or Nolengurer. In Bengali language payesh means kheer or payasam. Nolen gurer payesh is a delicious rice kheer or rice pudding made with date palm jaggery and rice.
