Moong dal payasam is a delicious sweet dish made with moong dal, jaggery, coconut milk, ghee and nuts. Kheer and payasam are the terms that refer to Indian puddings mostly cooked with milk. Moong dal payasam is a traditional South Indian variety & is also known as paruppu payasam or parippu payasam.

To get started with this particular recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can have green moong dal kheer using 11 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Green Moong Dal KHEER:
  1. Take 1 cup boiled Green moong dal
  2. Make ready 1/2 ltr boiled milk
  3. Take 50 gm grated Khoya /mawa (milk solid)
  4. Get 2 tbsp Khajur Gud (Date Jaggery)
  5. Get 2 tsp / more Brown sugar (as per need)
  6. Get 1/3 tsp dry Ginger power (Sonth)
  7. Get 1 tbsp Coconut powder
  8. Prepare 1 tbsp Clarified butter (Deshi ghee)
  9. Take 1 tbsp chopped dry fruits
  10. Get 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  11. Take 1 pinch salt

I do not know the name in other. To prepare this Payasam in Instant Pot, press the sauté button. Add ghee and once it melts, add in the cashews and dry coconut. High Protein contented Green Moong Dal Payasam prepared by Mrs.

Instructions to make Green Moong Dal KHEER:
  1. Heat the Ghee in a wok. Fry the dry fruits in low medium flame. Remove and keep aside.
  2. To the remaining ghee in the wok add the green moong dal paste and fry for 2 minutes on low medium heat. - - Now add milk and mawa to the dal and keep stirring. - - Then add Jaggery and/or brown sugar and salt, Coconut powder and Sonth or dry Ginger powder.
  3. Cook for 2 mins without covering the wok. - - Switch off the flame and mix the Cardamon power and fried dry fruits. - - Yummy and tasty Green Moong Dal Kheer is ready to serve. - Thanks.
