  1. Make ready 1/2 litre full cream milk/low fat milk (either one of the two)
  2. Get 100 gms jaggery chopped
  3. Take 2 tbsp sugar
  4. Take 2 tbsp fresh beaten curd
  5. Get as needed Kesar strands for garnish

Fans of this iconic Bengali dessert—fermented set yogurt sweetened with caramelized sugar—are found all over the subcontinent, including Bangladesh, and even further afield. Mishti Doi is synonymous with Bengal in East India. The Bengalis are famous for their sweet preparations and Mishti Doi is among their most well-known desserts.

Instructions to make Mishti Doi:
  1. Boil milk in a saucepan. Stir occasionally & let it boil on medium flame for few minutes.
  2. Add the chopped jaggery, sugar & mix well so that everything is well combined. Simmer on low flame for 1-2 minutes. Turn off the heat.
  3. Let the mixture cool down lil bit. (U dip ur finger in the milk and feel warm not hot & thats accurate temperature to add the beaten curd)
  4. Now add the beaten curd in the milk mixture &. Whisk well.
  5. Now pour the mixture in earthen/terracotta pots (for best results). Cover with aluminium foil & let it set in a warm place.
  6. Refrigerate after Mishti doi is completely set. Serve with meals or have it like a dessert !!
