  24. Prepare 300 ml Pecan Nuts (Roasted and Chopped)

These Pecan Pie Brownies are a Chocolate Twist on the traditional pecan pie recipe. The gooey paleo brownie paired with sweet pecan pie makes this combination the best Thanksgiving Dessert. You won't even believe this recipe is paleo, gluten-free and refined sugar-free. We can all agree that Pecan Pie is a must when it comes to Thanksgiving.

Instructions to make Gluten free Pecan Pie Brownie:
  1. For Crust: Combine the flour, brown sugar, xanthan gum and margarine until it comes together.
  2. With a spoon or spatula evenly spread out the dough onto a greased baking tray.
  3. Bake for 20min on 170°C. Leave to cool.
  4. For Brownies: Beat the eggs and sugar together until pale.
  5. Melt the chocolate and margarine together and add to egg mixture. Mix well.
  6. Sieve in the cocoa, flour, salt and baking powder and fold in.
  7. Evenly spread mixture over crust and bake for 20-25min on 170°C. Leave to cool.
  8. In a sauce pan, mix the syrup, sugar, Orley Whip, margarine, salt, cinnamon and vanilla. Heat the mixture to 118°C.
  9. Mix in the Pecan nuts and stir well.
  10. Pour over brownie and leave to cool completely before cutting up and serving.

Pour brownie batter into a baking pan, then pour the date paste/pecan mixture on top. Bake, let cool or refrigerate, then slice into squares. Recipe notes for peanut butter pecan pie brownies. Brownie batter will be quite thick, and not pourable like traditional brownies. Use your hands or a rubber spatula to spread the batter into an even layer.
