Hey everyone, it’s Louise, welcome to my recipe page. Today, we’re going to make a special dish, spinach tart. One of my favorites. For mine, I’m gonna make it a little bit tasty. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Spinach Tart is one of the most favored of recent trending foods in the world. It’s simple, it is quick, it tastes delicious. It is appreciated by millions every day. They’re nice and they look wonderful. Spinach Tart is something that I have loved my entire life.

Gently cook the spinach with half the butter, until wilted. Remove from the heat and chop finely. Heat the remaining butter and cook the onions until soft.

The ingredients needed to make Spinach Tart:
  1. Get FOR THE PASTRY:
  2. Prepare 100 g plain flour
  3. Get 100 g wholewheat flour
  4. Prepare 100 g butter
  5. Get 4 tbls water
  6. Prepare 1 little thyme
  7. Prepare salt / pepper
  8. Make ready FOR THE FILLING:
  9. Take 400 g fresh spinach, wilted/squeezed and chopped
  10. Get 100 g feta crumbled
  11. Prepare 100 ml single cream
  12. Take 2 red onions chopped and caramelised
  13. Take 1 egg
  14. Make ready 20 g grated parmesan cheese
  15. Prepare 50 g chopped baby plum tomatoes
  16. Get salt/pepper

Add the spinach, thyme and salt and pepper to taste, and stir together. Whisk the eggs in a large bowl. Stir in the onion and spinach mixture and the cheeses. Scrape into the pastry-lined tart pan.

Steps to make Spinach Tart:
  1. Preheat the oven to 180C fan assisted
  2. To make the pastry, mix both flours, butter and the thyme together. Add the water and knead. Wrap in cling film and place in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
  3. Whilst the pastry is chilling, prepare the filling.
  4. Wilt the spinach and once cool enough squeeze the water out with your hands and then chop roughly
  5. Add a little oil to a pan and caramelise the red onions
  6. Place all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well
  7. Once the pastry has chilled, remove from fridge and roll out and place in a loose bottom tin.
  8. Lightly prick the pastry and cover with parchment paper and add ceramic beads (ie bake blind) and place in the oven for 20 mins.
  9. After 20 mins, remove the ceramic beads and parchment paper and place back in the oven for 5 minutes
  10. Once the pastry is done, remove from the oven and place the spinach mixture inside making sure the ingredients are spread out.
  11. Place back in the oven and bake for about 20 mins until golden brown.

Press the spinach and cheese mixture into the tart pans smoothing to level the top. Drain and squeeze spinach mixture to remove as much liquid as possible. Coarsely chop the spinach mixture; set aside. Gently cook spinach with half the butter, until wilted. Heat rest of butter and cook onions until soft.
