  13. Prepare 100 g Butter - Chilled and Cubed (a)
  14. Make ready 75 g Rolled Oats
  15. Get 50 g Chopped Nuts (b)

  18. Make ready (a) - Can be subbed for vegetable fat if you prefer

Slow cooker apple crumble is an easy and delicious dessert. Apple Crumble: An Easy and Comforting Dessert. Apple crumble is a simple and delicious dessert. The combination of warm apples, cinnamon, and a topping made with ingredients like brown sugar, oats, and butter is hard for many people to resist.

Instructions to make Slow Cooked Apple Crumble:
  1. Grease the liner of a 5 ltr slow cooker with butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl mix together all of the filling ingredients that you have chosen to go with, cover with cling film and refrigerate for an hour or two to allow the flavours to infuse.
  3. Meanwhile, in another bowl, rub together by hand the sugar, flour and chilled butter until you have a breadcrumb like consistency.
  4. Gently add in the rest of the ingredients taking care not to over work the mixture as you don't want it to stick together and form a dough. You may choose to hold back a little of the sugar to sprinkle over the top.
  5. When ready, pour your filling mixture into your greased slow cooker liner and gently spoon over the crumble mixture. Sprinkle with any sugar you saved (or just add more if you like).
  6. Cover and cook on the lowest setting for around 4-4.5 hours.
  7. For a crunchier topping you may transfer your slow cooker liner to an oven for the final 10 minutes of cook time. Preheat to around 180 degrees C for this.
  8. Serve straight from the dish with your choice of cream, custard or ice cream.
  9. Sit back, relax and enjoy.

It is the ideal comfort food. Using a pastry cutter, a fork, or your fingers(!), cut in the butter, and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle the crumb mixture over top of the apples in the crockpot. Place the apple slices in the base of the slow cooker and add the apple juice. Sprinkle the flour mixture evenly over them.
