  1. Make ready 1 litre Full fat milk
  2. Prepare 1/4 cup Basmati rice or any rice

  4. Take 2-3 Green Cardmom
  5. Take 2 tbsp Chopped almonds
  6. Take 2 tbsp Chopped cashewnuts
  7. Prepare 2 tbsp Chopped pistachios
  8. Make ready 2 tbsp Raisins
  9. Take 2 tbsp Grated dry coconut
  10. Take slices Coconut

This kheer recipe is very easy to make and required very few ingredients. All of the ingredients will be available in your pantry. Rinse a deep non-stick pan with ¼ cup. Kheer or Payasam is an Indian favorite dessert for special occasions.

Steps to make Rice Kheer:
  1. Wash rice and soak in water for about 30 minutes.
  2. While the rice soaks bring milk to a boil in a large heavy bottomed pot.
  3. Add drained rice and begin to cook on a medium flame until the rice is soft completely cooked and lightly mushy.
  4. Then add sugar. Stir and continue to cook until the kheer turns thick. Keep stirring often in between to prevent burning.
  5. Add cardamom powder and some nuts. Stir and continue to cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Switch off when rice kheer reaches a desired consistency. It is good to switch off when it is of a runny consistency. It thickens once it cools down.
  7. Garnish Rice Kheer with rest of the nuts and serve hot or chilled.
