I used green tea powder to make a swirl cake. This recipe is different from normal pound cake recipes, but it really works! This is such an easy recipe without using an electric mixer. This cake doesn't have a lot of air, so it has a dense, moist and rich texture!

Steps to make Green Tea Swirl Pound Cake:
  1. Leave the butter and egg out at room temperature. Mix the ◎ ingredients well. Sift together the flour and baking powder.
  2. Line a loaf tin with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 355F/180C.
  3. Combine the eggs and sugar in a bowl and whisk well. Stir in the vanilla essence.
  4. Put softened butter in another bowl and whisk until it has a mayonnaise-like consistency. Add the sifted flour.
  5. You will have a crumbly texture first, but continue to whisk.
  6. Whisk until creamy. Add the mixture from Step 3 to the bowl in 3-4 batches. Continue to whisk throughout.
  7. Whisk until you have a creamy batter with soft consistency. Divide the batter into two bowls. Add the ◎ into one of the bowls and mix well.
  8. You will have 2 types of batter.
  9. Put the two types of batter alternatively in the prepared loaf tin. Quickly stir with a spoon.
  10. Bake in the oven heated to 355F/180C for about 40 minutes. After 15 minutes of baking, take out the tin and make a slit in the middle lengthwise.
  11. By making a slit in the middle, you will have a pretty-looking cake like this.

There are two ways to make a marble effect: Make the swirl with the green and yellow batter inside the cake pan. Make the swirl with the green and yellow batter in the bowl and then transfer to the cake pan. I personally prefer the second method because I can see how the two colors are combined before pouring into the pan. I used green tea powder to make a swirl cake. This recipe is different from normal pound cake recipes, but it really works!
