Instructions to make Tiramisu (the real way):

1. Brew espresso and let cool
2. Separate egg whites and egg yokes in two bowls
3. Whip egg whites until stiff peaks form then add two tablespoons of sugar and continue to whip
4. Blend two tablespoons of sugar and all of the marscapone cheese into the egg yolk mixture.
5. Gently fold the egg white mixture into the egg yolk mixture.
6. Dip lady fingers in espresso and place on the bottom of a 9x7 Pyrex glass pan
7. Pour half of the egg/cheese mixture over the lady fingers and sprinkle half of the dark chocolate
8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 with another layer of lady fingers and egg/cheese mixture
9. Let tiramisu sit for at least 4 hours to allow lady fingers to reach the optimal soft texture
10. When ready to serve, dust the top with cocoa powder and enjoy!
11. P.S. If you want to add something special, put a dollop of Nutella on top

This classic Tiramisu is made authentically in the Italian way, with espresso soaked ladyfingers layered with a light and airy mascarpone cream, and dusted with cocoa powder to finish. This is a great make ahead dessert and perfect for entertaining! In a way, the sweet and bitter taste of tiramisu can be seen as a metaphor for wars. Wars are bitter, but the thought of having people who love you waiting at home makes the pain more bearable.
